Step 1: Soak & Prepare
Pre-Exfoliating Foam
I definitely took growing up with a bathtub for granted. Now, living in my current apartment that only has a standing shower, I’ve never missed soaking in a tub more when I started using this pre-exfoliating foam. It’s a unique product that makes the exfoliation process a soft and gentle experience. To begin your ritual, you should soak your body and have your skin absorb the foam for about two minutes. Of course, having a tub would’ve made this so much better, but it still worked fine with my shower.
Step 2: Exfoliate
Exfoliating Body Glove Set
I’m not the biggest fan of exfoliating. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy having super smooth skin, but there’s just something about the roughness of it all that makes me neglect this step more often than not. However, after using the Exfoliating Body Glove set, I’m more eager to do it. The set comes with two gloves — a beige one for gentle exfoliation and a black one for deeper exfoliation. The brand recommends letting the gloves soak in warm water for about five minutes before using.
After rinsing the Pre-Exfoliating Foam off, you can go in with the glove you choose to start your exfoliation process. I chose the black one because I hadn’t exfoliated in a while. It was a little rough, but nothing I couldn’t handle, and it was actually quite enjoyable. Not to mention, I could feel the results almost immediately. My skin felt ridiculously soft and supple, and I couldn’t stop touching my arms and legs. This duo is a must-have for this summer, especially if you’re prone to strawberry skin after shaving.
Step 3: Purify & Hydrate
Body Wash
As much as I enjoyed the exfoliation process, my favorite part of the ritual was using the body wash. I’ll admit that I’m one of those people who think soap is soap — maybe it lathers more than others, but they all get the job done. However, I stood corrected with this body wash. In a five-star review, one shopper said, “I want to smell this forever,” and I couldn’t agree more. The jasmine wood scent is the perfect aroma for a relaxing shower. My senses immediately awakened once I smelled it, and I didn’t want to stop using it. The lather is so luxurious — it has just the right amount of foam and feels so hydrating, especially after exfoliating. But, for those sensitive to fragrances, a fragrance-free option is also available.
Step 4: Nourish
Dry Body Oil
The fourth and final step is to nourish your skin with the Nerrā Dry Body Oil. After the intoxicating Jasmine wood aroma, the next best thing about this is its spray nozzle. And I know what you’re thinking, “Really? A spray nozzle?!” Yes really! It is such a game-changer in my routine. To be honest, I find applying body oils to be extremely messy — it just gets all over the place. But I don’t have that problem with the spray bottle. Also, it’s meant to be applied on dry skin instead of damp, which is a plus for me. I tend to dry off immediately after my shower, so using this dry body oil made my shower routine so seamless and super beneficial for my skin. Absolutely obsessed.
