Samsung reveals ‘change screen’ settings trick that instantly unlocks extra battery life – don’t ignore list of tweaks
SAMSUNG has revealed some simple settings tweaks to instantly upgrade your battery life.
They affect your display, which can be a huge drain on your battery.
Reducing your screen resolution is just one way to save battery[/caption] Try deactivating Adaptive Brightness and manually reducing the brightness too[/caption]If your Samsung Galaxy phone isn’t making it through the whole day, it might be time to take a look at settings.
This may be the case if you’ve had your phone for a while: rechargeable lithium-ion batteries like the ones inside smartphones naturally degrade.
That means they’ll hold less charge compared to when they were new, which means you may need to make some changes to boost the phone’s battery life.
“Galaxy phones are designed to offer high performance and excellent battery life,” Samsung explained.
“However, battery life depends on how the battery is used and different devices have different battery life.
“Long screen time-out settings or high display brightness can substantially reduce the battery.
“To save battery, consider lowering your brightness setting, deactivating auto-brightness, reducing the sleep timeout setting and adjusting your screen resolution and wallpaper.”
SAMSUNG DISPLAY SETTINGS TO IMPROVE BATTERY
An easy tweak to make is to reduce the screen resolution.
By choosing a lower resolution, you can make instant battery savings.
Just go to Settings > Display > Change Screen Resolution and choose one of the left-most options, then hit Apply.
You should also try reducing the Screen Timeout delay.
This governs how long the screen stays active after you last touched it.
It’s set to 30 seconds by default, but you can drop it to 15 seconds in Settings > Display > Screen Timeout.
Reducing the Screen Timeout from 30 seconds to 15 seconds can help improve battery life[/caption] For Samsung phones with AMOLED screens, switching to Dark Mode can save battery life[/caption]Reducing screen brightness is a very simple way to improve battery life.
You can do this in Settings > Display, or more quickly by swiping down from the top of the screen and using the quick-panel slider.
And unless you’re somewhere very bright, you may need to go to Settings > Display and deactivate Adaptive Brightness to prevent this from being overridden.
If your Samsung phone has an AMOLED display (and many recent models do) then Dark Mode can improve battery life too.
