'I don't know what goes on in there': Top Dem says impossible to 'get in the head of MTG'
House Democratic Caucus Chair Peter Aguilar (D-CA) refused to "get in the head" of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) after she escalated her threat to oust House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA).
At a press conference Tuesday, Aguilar was asked how Democrats would react if Greene goes through with the so-called "motion to vacate" the Speaker's chair.
The lawmaker said members of his caucus planned to vote to table Greene's motion.
"It's not lost on me the role that Mike Johnson played in the lead up to January 6th," Aguilar said. "We saw that in our work on the January 6th committee, and it has not been forgotten by our members. However, we want to turn the page."

"We don't want to turn the clock back and let Margie Taylor Greene dictate the schedule and the calendar of what's ahead," he continued. "We want to turn the page and focus on the pressing issues that everyday Americans care about."
One reporter noted that Greene had accused Johnson of cutting a "backroom deal" with Democrats to save his speakership.
"I'm not going to try to get in the head of Marjorie Taylor Greene," Aguilar replied. "I don't know what goes on in there."
"It's her right to bring that up," he said of the motion to vacate. "The Republican rules that she voted for, that we voted against, allow any single member to bring this proposal up.
"She is a legislative arsonist, and she is holding the gas tank."
