A Missouri Site Considers Mark Mitchell
What does the former Blue Devil bring to Mizzou?
Here’s a look from a Missouri site at what they think they’ll get from transfer portal pickup Mark Mitchell.
At Duke, Mitchell was primarily a defensive force. He is immensely versatile as Blue Devil fans know, able to guard almost anyone on the court.
However, his offense was always erratic. For instance, in his last six games, Mitchell scored 3, 18, 15, 2, 2 and 6 points. In his last 10 games, Mitchell took just five threes and none in the last four games at all, although it’s also possible that he was instructed not to do so.
One of the biggest problems he had at Duke was simply inconsistency, especially on offense. At times he could be dominant and made some highly aggressive moves in the lane. At other times, he simply seemed to disappear on offense.
His defense was generally outstanding but Duke really could have used more offense from the front court and he didn't always deliver that.
However, his strengths generally outweigh his weaknesses so we expect that at Missouri he’ll quickly find a role and perhaps may have more offensive opportunities than he saw at Duke.
