Baltimore Sun high school Athletes of the Week (April 22-28): Aberdeen’s Trevor Zakowsky and Catonsville’s Casey Fisher
Each week, The Baltimore Sun will recognize one high school player from a boys sport and one from a girls sport for their athletic achievements.
Boys sport Athlete of the Week: Trevor Zakowsky, Aberdeen, baseball
The sophomore pitcher proved flawless for the Eagles on Friday, throwing a five-inning perfect game in a 15-0 win over Edgewood. Zakowsky struck out nine batters in the outing and also contributed a triple, RBI and run scored. On April 22, he opened the week with two hits and three RBIs in a 5-4 win over Bo Manor. Zakowsky is batting .361 with nine RBIs and six run scored with a 1-1 mark on the mound.
Girls sport Athlete of the Week: Casey Fisher, Catonsville, lacrosse
The senior midfielder totaled nine goals and six assists in tightly-contested wins over Bel Air and Hereford. In Tuesday’s 15-11 win against Bel Air, Fisher finished with five goals and four assists. In Thursday’s 18-17 win over Baltimore County rival Hereford, she enjoyed a four-goal, two-assist performance. The High Point commit has 36 goals, 13 assists and 24 draw controls with the Comets (6-3) opening this week on a six-game win streak.
