CT man accused of trying to meet teen girl for sex in Meriden
A West Haven man has been charged with allegedly trying to meet a teenage girl for sex in Meriden, police said.
Kedar Lewis, 31, was allegedly talking to who he thought was a 15-year-old girl. On Friday, he went to a specific spot in Meriden to allegedly meet up with the girl but was instead met by law enforcement, according to the Meriden Police Department.
Lewis was charged with criminal attempt at risk of injury, sexual contact with a victim under 16 years old, criminal attempt at second-degree sexual assault, criminal attempt at commercial sexual abuse of a minor, criminal attempt of enticing a minor and criminal attempt in promoting a minor in an obscene performance, police said.
Meriden Sergeant Michael Boothroyd said Lewis’ arrest came after a months-long investigation by the Meriden police and Federal Bureau of Investigation with the help of the Special Crimes Unit and the Crime Suppression Unit.
