Two hospitalized after Lafayette crash involving pedestrian, road reopened
UPDATE: LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY)-- Verot School Road going towards the Evangeline Thruway from the 300 block to the 400 block has reopened, according to the Lafayette Police Department.
ORIGINAL: LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY)-- Two people were hospitalized after a major vehicle crash involving a pedestrian in the 300 block of Verot School Road in Lafayette.
As a result of the crash, Verot School Road going towards the Evangeline Thruway from the 300 block to the 400 block has been shut down. Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
Around 12:07 p.m., the Lafayette Police Department responded to the incident. One victim was sent to the hospital in critical condition, and another victim was also brought to the hospital with moderate injuries.
The driver of the vehicle sustained minor injuries, but did not want to get treated.
LPD is currently at the location of the crash. More information regarding the reopening of the road will shared when made available.
