The showcase and competition started two decades ago for students and now draws cutting edge game designers and developers from across the Northeast. GameFest 2024 focuses on both "the innovative spirit of the Rensselaer model for education and research" and the greater gaming landscape in the state of New York.
Experts from across the video game industry are choosing winners of cash prizes in several categories. Over thirty games are represented at GameFest, from teams at RPI, NYU, Rochester Institute of Technology, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, CUNY, and UConn.
