My wife is adamant she doesn’t want kids but my yearning to become a dad has strengthened
DEAR DEIDRE: I WORRY I’ll never have kids because my wife is adamant she doesn’t want them.
We are both in our 30s and have been together for nearly 10 years.
She always made it clear she didn’t want to become a parent but over the years my yearning to become a dad has strengthened.
Six years ago I tried to speak to my wife about it. She simply said: “If you want children you’ll have to find another woman.”
Since then she has refused to speak about it – ever.
The pain of not having children has worsened over time despite trying to accept that I won’t be a dad.

DEIDRE SAYS: You knew from the beginning that your wife didn’t want children and it’s clear she isn’t changing her mind.
Ultimately, if you want children you will need to leave your wife and have them with someone else which is a huge step.
