7 winners (Steelers, hello) and losers (Panthers, why?) from Day 2 of the NFL Draft
Day 2 of the 2024 NFL Draft was somehow even more chaotic than the first round, which had plenty of notable winners and losers. With over 60 picks rolling through Friday night, we graded every single second and third-round selection as NFL teams tried to appropriately fill their roster coffers with hopeful core players and depth. While we move to Day 3, this will particularly come into focus as we enter sleeper prospect territory.
That also meant there were plenty of swings and a lot of misses on hand.
For one, a familiar NFC East power doubled up at a position of need, putting itself in a prime place to return to prominence as early as this fall. Elsewhere, an NFC North team probably should’ve considered the consequences of an extremely expensive first round. If that weren’t enough, one college football program continued using this draft as a celebration of its latest monumental achievement. Because of course it did.
