‘I’ll be a millionaire by next year’ vows The Apprentice winner as she marks huge business milestone after latest series
THE Apprentice champ Marnie Swindells has vowed to be a millionaire this time next year 12 months after winning the contest.
Marnie, 29, has proved a worthwhile investment for Lord Sugar and looks to be on track to become one of the most successful The Apprentice winners ever.
She managed to bag the £250,000 from Lord Alan Sugar for her business, Bronx Ldn, a gym which caters mostly for boxing.
Now, she looks set to be on course to be worth an eye-watering seven figures by 2025 as her business goes from strength to strength.
In a new interview, she told us: “This time next year, I’ll be a millionaire!”
The BBC champ has already come far in the space of one year after celebrating the expansion and relaunch of her South London gym which feature state-of-the-art equipment and a huge boxing ring for budding fighters to hone their craft.
Marnie held a star-studded launch party for the gym’s major overhaul and expansion where she came face-to-face with her rival Rachel Woolford for the very first time.
However, she laughed off rumours of a feud between the two as she revealed their gyms were very different and also at opposite ends of the county.
Speaking exclusively to The Sun at the event, Marnie said: “Most importantly, her gym is all the way up North whereas I’m all the way down in the South.
“Our USP here is boxing predominately and I know she does different things – I don’t think we are rivals!
“We can probably learn together and share tips, especially now we are both in business with Lord Sugar.”
Despite both being connection the business titan, Marnie revealed she had no idea who would be crowned the winner until she watched the final episode with the rest of the nation on BBC One.
She insisted that she trusted Lord Sugar’s decision and didn’t think he would choose to end up investing in a business which could potentially become her competition and damage the incredible money-making partnership they have built up.
Marnie said: “It was entirely his decision and he has every right to pick whatever business he wants.
“If he had have invested in just another boxing club and I would have been like ‘hold on,’ but no.
“It is in his interest for his investment to do well – if he thought Rachel was a competitor to us, it wouldn’t have made business sense for him.”
Marnie remains close with Lord Sugar and insists he is an active part of the decision-making process with his team visiting the gym the day of it’s launch.
The reality TV star told The Sun that he is currently scheduled to make a visit himself to see the latest expansions in the coming weeks.
Speaking of their bond, the star added: “He sent me a really lovely email to say good luck with the launch.
“He is very personally invested, it isn’t just a case of throwing the money in and we don’t speak, he has a real desire to see it do well!”
Outside of business, Marnie admitted she is also keen to land more TV work to show off the “playful side” to her, something she admitted can be missed or overlooked coming from a serious-minded business show.
She added: “I’d love people to see my personality a bit more and I think it would be a really good thing.
“When you go on The Apprentice you often get portrayed as a certain character but there are fun sides to me and I’d love to showcase that and show that I am multi-faceted.”
