Center for Disability Services hosts pep rally for Albany Firebirds
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Arena football returns to Albany on Saturday, and some local students helped the Albany Firebirds get ready for their home opener.
The Langan School and the Clover Patch Preschool at the Center for Disability Services hosted a pep rally for the Firebirds on Friday. Students designed banners to welcome the team and wish them luck.
The players, coaches, and owners signed autographs and spent time with the kids, feeding off their excitement.
"It was just seeing the smiles on everyone's faces," wide receiver Darius Prince said. "It really just shows us, to come in here and interact with them, and know that we made their day better, that's what it's all about."
The Firebirds host the Orlando Predators at 8 p.m. on Saturday at MVP Arena.
