Kane the missing cat found after three months
MILTON, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A cat that's been missing for over three months and sparked an animal cruelty case in Milton has been found. Kane the cat was returned to his owner Jamie DiGiovanni Thursday night, after it was found and cared for for over a month.
DiGiovanni posted on Facebook, saying a couple had found Kane and were able to get him inside their home. The couple had been feeding him for over a month but couldn't get him into a cage to try and verify if it was truly him.
The couple contacted DiGiovanni who showed up to pick up Kane.
"I picked him up and he immediately started to purr so loudly," wrote DiGiovanni on Facebook. "I was so overjoyed."
Kane was the subject of an animal cruelty case dating back to February, where Anthony Gargano was accused of leaving a cat outside the Saratoga County Animal Shelter in the cold after the facility was closed in January.
DiGiovanni told NEWS10 in February was known to the neighborhood and staff of Spring Street Deli and Pizzeria, a restaurant owned by Gargano. Gargano pleaded guilty in March in the case, and in addition to being fined, he was banned from owning animals for 50 years.
