‘You couldn’t write it!’ gasp BBC Breakfast fans as rude joke leaves Naga shaking her head and Charlie Stayt stuttering
BBC Breakfast fans were left utterly cringing after a rude joke was made that left the presenters in shock.
Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt took to the airwaves to present Friday’s edition of the flagship sofa show.
Things seemed to be going smoothly until sports presenter Mike Bushell delivered his final sports story.
He reported how an alligator disrupted play at a New Orleans golf tournament.
The exchange soon turned awry in the studio after Mike compared it to a situation South Africa where officials have to try and stop monkeys from stealing golf balls off the course,
The presenter remarked: “I think I’d rather have alligators holding up play the cheeky baboons like in South Africa where they actually have baboon monitors to try and stop the baboons pinching your balls.”
Charlie then laughed: “That’s a tough job isn’t it.”
Giving a knowing look to the camera, the lead anchor said: “Yeah. You’ve got to be careful with baboons.”
Charlie couldn’t help but laugh as he was left almost aghast by the exchange that was turning more awkward by the second.
Trying to deflect, he turned the conversation to weather presenter Matt Taylor as he asked: “Matty, you usually careful around baboons?”
“I think you have to be, I can’t say I have the same sort of activity as Mike at the office.”
“I’d have to give you some tips,” again joked the sports presenter before Naga Munchetty interjected into their conversation.
She asked: “What? Avoiding baboons pinching your balls?”
Not quite knowing what to say, he responded: “No, I’ve not quite had that, no”.
“Shall we go to the weather,” he then desperately asked.
To which Naga shaked her head as she loudly exclaimed: “Please!”
Viewers couldn’t help but cringe at the awkward conversation as they took to social media.
One BBC Breakfast fan wrote: “Brilliant baboon pinching moment there, the awkwardness was palpable. You couldn’t write it. 
.”
“Angry Baboons everywhere… #BBCBreakfast #naga,” said another sarcastic viewer.
Whilst a third simply put: “Morning #BBCBreakfast,” alongside a screenshot of the weatherman with subtitles.
The captions read: “Avoiding baboons pinching your balls?”
This was as a fourth sarcastically cringed: “#BBCBreakfast baboon’s pinching your balls 
.”
Responding to his comment, another watching viewer remarked: “They nearly got away with it until they said it again!”
