‘Top 5 moments of ‘Survivor 46’ episode 9: Camp chaos and a nail-biting Tribal Council
The ninth episode of “Survivor 46” aired on Wednesday night, concluding with host Jeff Probst snuffing out the torch of Hunter McKnight. The 28-year-old from Mississippi became the 10th contestant eliminated from the game and third member of the jury. But what were the dumbest, most shocking and most exciting moments of this episode?

Top 5 Moments of Episode 9:
1. One Big Not So Happy Family: After last week’s tribal council, which saw Tevin Davis get voted out after Q Burdette went rogue by throwing a proverbial grenade on the table, the return to camp was one for the “Survivor” history books. Honestly, even after the nastiest of blindsides, I have never seen a group turn on someone like this before (not like Q didn’t deserve it). Everyone bonded over Q’s decision, noting he would have to quit for that plan to work. Tiffany Nicole Ervin was more annoyed that he blabbed about her idol though, throwing Charlie Davis under the bus in the process. She rose in my rankings after this confrontation. Meanwhile, Liz Wilcox pulled a Monica Gellar and lamented that Q had stolen her thunder.
2. Camp Life: The next day, Q continued to be the talk of the tribe, with even Ben Katzman calling him a coward. Venus Vafa noted the same thing and called Hunter “the village idiot.” The duo of Hunter and Q looked very short-lived at this point, which just might be the biggest fall from grace in recent memory on the show. Hunter noted that he must continue to win immunity in order to regain his footing again. When it came time to separate into teams of three, Q was partnered with Venus and Liz, which just looked like a disaster from the start. Q also decided to start playing again, encouraging Hunter’s team to throw the challenge, which was a dubious choice to say the least.
3. Earn the Top 8: Jeff quickly noted that nobody wanted to be on a team with Q, which makes sense since he is a mess. In the end, the team of Charlie, Hunter, and Maria Shrime Gonzalez got to compete for individual immunity. The “hunter and hunted” did a commendable job at this stage, but in a weird way this challenge showed a very important fact: physical exhaustion can hit quick. Charlie emerged victorious against the challenge powerhouse that is Hunter, which was one of the more shocking wins of the season.

4. Jury Management 101: Just to recap, we have seen two jurors seated that seemingly are appreciative of gameplay and hold no grudges…from what we have seen. Naturally, this is the type of juror one would want to continue creating, but given the past episode and the distrust within this group, it was impossible to replicate. Q knew he was the top target, but his desire to cause further chaos made him fight as hard as he could. Kenzie targeted Tiffany, with Hunter as the fake target. Keeping him around instead of her was a smart choice as she is easily the smarter player of the two. Tiffany said she was going to play her idol, while being blissfully unaware of said plan, which made the situation even more difficult. The target quickly became the T-Rex of the season, as Ben called him, Hunter. He saw the writing on the wall, but with his idol possibly in play, Plan C had to be made to vote Q out. Spicy indeed!
5. The Third Juror is Named: Jeff was prepared for the possibility of another chaotic Tribal Council and even offered the contestants some popcorn. Tiffany versus Q was the “Survivor” equivalent of fireworks, much to Hunter’s chagrin. Ben was the biggest voice of reason though, which made him rise in my rankings. As the vote was split between Hunter and Q, a revote was necessary, with Q and Hunter praying to the “Survivor” gods. Hunter received the most votes, commending his tribemates as he walked out with an idol in his pocket. Not going to sugar coat this one, he is going to be a hard vote to get since on paper he was on track to reach the finale up until last week, so he also is a victim of the Q scandal. Question is though….will Q be next?
