Petersburgh man charged with assault, criminal contempt
PETERSBURGH, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Petersburgh man has been arrested following a dispute investigation, according to state police. Thomas Burdick, 32, is facing multiple charges.
On April 20 at 5:28 p.m., police responded to the report of an altercation in a car on Taborton Road in Petersburgh. Upon arrival, troopers located the vehicle unoccupied near the intersection of Taborton and Kipple Roads.
Troopers were able to locate the driver, identified as Burdick, at a nearby home. The ensuing investigation determined that Burdick was reportedly driving the car without a valid license when he allegedly injured a passenger by striking them during an argument.
State police say that the incident occurred while a child was in the car, and with a court-issued refrain from an order of protection in place against Burdick on behalf of the victim. Burdick was taken into custody and processed at SP Sand Lake. He now faces the following charges:

- First-degree criminal contempt
- Third-degree assault
- Endangering the welfare of a child,
- Aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child
- First-degree aggravated unlicensed operator
While being processed, Burdick reportedly recorded a blood alcohol content of 0.15 percent. He was arraigned at the Sand Lake Town Court before being released on his own recognizance.
