Police: Child approached by stranger near school
SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) - The Schenectady Police are investigating a report of a child approached by a stranger near Van Corlaer Elementary School. Officers say a man driving in the area approached the girl near the school.
The child told police that the man asked them uncomfortable questions and went into the school and told staff members. The school immediately contacted the police.
Officers say they found the man and he's being questioned by the department’s Youth Aid Bureau. Police say they have not received any other similar reports and the investigation is ongoing.
