‘Pardon?!’ barks Naga Munchetty in painfully awkward clash with BBC Breakfast’s Mike Bushell over Carol Kirkwood ‘feud’
NAGA Munchetty was left in an intense ‘stare-off’ with her co-star after he made a damning dig at her alleged feud with Carol Kirkwood.
In recent weeks, fans of the BBC have been convinced that Naga and Carol are involved in a secret heated feud with some going as far to insist that 49-year-old Naga “hates her”.
Tensions reached fever pitch this morning on the show when sports presenter Mike Bushell made a cheeky quip about the rumours that left Naga fuming.
Mike regularly appears on the programme to bring the hosts up to date with all the latest need-to-knows from the world of sport.
He was chatting to Naga and her co-host Charlie Stayt about tennis star Emma Raducanu and her latest performance on the court.
Mike was seen offering up some words of encouragement and advice to Emma as he spoke about her desire to do well at Wimbledon.
Poking fun at his own comment, he said: “There’s no pressure from me, she won’t listen to me anyway!”
Attempting to segway into Carol Kirkwood‘s weather report, Naga curiously questioned Mike about the 62-year-old as she said to him: “Do you think Carol listens to us?”
Mike then chuckled as he said: “Well, not you!”
Naga looked furious as she quickly turned her head away from him as her eyes rolled back in apparent anger.
Barking back, she said in a deadpan tone: “Pardon?”
Charlie could be seen gritting his teeth as Naga began to stare down Mike who attempted to laugh his comment off.
Unable to let it go, Naga appeared to be becoming increasingly irritated as she spat back: “What did you say?
“What did, no, what did you say?”
Mike attempted to play it off as he claimed he was making “a joke” as he tried to avoid Naga’s glare.
Stumbling, he went: “No, I mean, I…”
Charlie soon threw to Carol in the London studio as Naga continued to look on in disgust amid an awkward silence.
As Carol was in shot, Mike could still be heard saying to Naga: “Ask her yourself… how long is that stare going to last?”
Carol quickly tried to move on as she said: “Hello, oh I am so keeping out of this altogether!”
As Carol ended her report, Naga snubbed her by failing to say “thank you” to her as the feud rumbled on.
Commenting on the fiery exchange, one fan said online: “Naga looked ready to lamp him.”
It comes just a few weeks after their feud was first picked up on by fans amid another tense exchange – which also included Mike.
Speaking at the time, one viewer noted: “Naga and Carol really do hate each other.”
As someone else claimed: “You can cut the atmosphere with a knife.”
