Guilderland yarn store celebrates completion of expansion project
GUILDERLAND, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A local business that specializes in handmade yarn products celebrated the start of a new chapter on Wednesday. Cece's Wool in Guilderland held a grand reopening ceremony after expanding the store in Hamilton Square.
A lot of the products come from the owner's sheep farm and other local farms. Owner Cecilia Tkaczyk said the new space will allow them to turn her passion for yarn into a community.
"We can have more experiences in learning how to weave, how to knit, how to crochet, and just socialization in bringing community members together who want to work on their crafts together," she said.
The company started by selling dog beds online and opened the first store in Esperance. They moved to Guilderland just before the pandemic. The owner thanked her customers for their continued support.
