Fired former Estherwood police officer arrested on new underage sex charges
ACADIA PARISH, La. (KLFY) -- A former sergeant for the Estherwood Police Department has been arrested for a second time on new felony charges related to raping a child, authorities said.
Gregory Mire, 43, of St. Martinville is charged with carnal knowledge of a juvenile and indecent behavior with juveniles, both felonies, and violation of protective orders, a misdemeanor. Officials said he has been released on bond.
Previously, Mire had been released on bond in September on two felony charges of indecent behavior with juveniles and obstruction of justice – evidence tampering and a misdemeanor charge of cyberstalking.
Mire and his wife Emily Mire, a former Estherwood Police Captain, Alderwoman and Mayor Pro-Tem, were arrested Sept. 17 on multiple charges and subsequently fired from the Estherwood Police Department.
