Amsterdam man pleaded guilty to drugs, money laundering
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- An Amsterdam man pleaded guilty to the distribution of drugs and more on Tuesday. Angelo Dalmau, 54, admitted to dealing cocaine between September 2021 and March 2022, money laundering, and possession of a pistol.
Police recovered 100 grams of cocaine, $191,843 in cash, a pistol and ammunition, and drug paraphernalia when they searched Dalmau's home on Sunday, April 14. Dalmau admitted selling 250 grams of cocaine on five separate occasions and trafficking $149,500 from drug sales to be laundered by another person.
Dalmau’s sentencing is Friday, Aug. 23. He is expected to be sentenced to seven years and nine months in prison as part of his plea deal. He also faces a fine of up to $1 million and three years to life of post-supervision.
