Professional cleaner explains why the Shark hoovers are NOT worth the hype – & six other household items she’d never buy
THEY’RE the hoovers everyone’s been talking about – but according to one expert, the viral Shark vacuum cleaners are NOT worth the hype.
Cleaning whizz @cleanwithjg took to TikTok to explain why you’d never see a Shark hoover in her home, alongside six other popular household items she steers clear of.
The pro took to TikTok to explain why the viral Shark vacuum cleaners were not worth the hype, in her eyes[/caption] According to the professional cleaner, the hoovers were ‘too heavy’ and not ‘flexible’ enough[/caption]Shark vacuum cleaners
Although it seems that these hoovers are all the rage in the cleaning community – and the Stratos IZ400UK version was even voted the best overall cordless vacuum cleaner – the expert said she simply wasn’t ”a big fan” of it.
In her eyes, she elaborated in the video, they tend to be ”too heavy” and ”not flexible” enough for effective cleaning.
Silicone toilet brushes
More sleek than their regular bristle counterparts, silicone brush options don’t just look cooler – according to microbiologists, they also promise a more germ-free experience too, Apartment Therapy reported.
But although some experts in the field insist that this version tends to be ”more sanitary”, the professional cleaner claimed it was ”an absolute myth”.
”Silicone is so hard to clean with,” wrote the whizz, adding that people should just ”keep on top of replacing normal ones”.
Black taps
Sure, they may look sleek and make your bathroom, as well as kitchen, look more polished and expensive.
But according to the guru, who’s won over 10k followers, black taps and any other fixtures are a nightmare to keep spotless, especially when living in a hard water area.
The only time they will ever look brand new is until you use them for the first time, the pro warned.
Black furniture
Similarly to black fixtures, dark furniture, whether it’s a cupboard or a coffee table, will be a challenge to maintain looking fresh.
As explained by the guru, this is because ”dust shows up so much more on these” – and you’ll be left dusting for the rest of your life.
Matt cupboards
Sharing her other home no-nos, the whizz also explained why matt cupboards had made it on the list.
”I cannot stress enough how hard these are to clean – any fingerprint or grease mark becomes so hard to remove if you don’t have the right cleaning products.”
Framed mirrors
Functional and stylish, mirrors are a great way to add some light – and character – into your home.
But with so many options in the market, there’s one the TikTok pro advised to steer clear of – framed mirrors.
This, she noted, is because any bits of dust and dirt will collect in the tiny cervices and you will be stuck cleaning them for what feels like hours on end.

Last but certainly not least – the viral waterfall taps.

In fact, the woman dislikes them so much, she said she likes to ”keep far, far away” from this type of taps.
