6-year-old airlifted to hospital in Orange County rollover
NEWBURGH, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- State Police responded to a rollover crash on I-87 northbound in Newburgh on Monday. Police say a 6-year-old was airlifted to Westchester Medical Center for severe lacerations.
State Police say the crash took place near mile marker 61.9 between Exit 17 and Exit 18. A preliminary investigation found a 2022 Toyota Tundra was parked on the right shoulder and tried to reenter the roadway.
The Tundra crossed over into the path of a 2011 Toyota Venza. The Venza overturned into the median.
A 6-year-old in the Venza was airlifted to Westchester Medical Center, no other injuries were reported. The Tundra driver was given a traffic ticket as a result of the crash.
