Brighton vs Man City preview
Pep Guardiola blasted the fixture compilers after a difficult week which saw them exit the Champions League before just getting across the line to beat Chelsea at Wembley.
There wasn’t much in the way of squad rotation, it has to be said. But now the fixtures have fallen kindly for them as they get a Thursday spot in this midweek list.
The downside of that is they’re now in catch-up mode and go into the game four points behind leaders Arsenal, having played two games less.
It was a slog on Sunday for City and they only just got over the line and did so without Erling Haaland. He missed training earlier in the week along with Phil Foden and John Stones.
City remain unbeaten since an early December loss to Aston Villa and they come into their own at this stage of the competition.
Brighton have been very stop-start this season, hence their spot of tenth at the minute.
They’ve struggled to juggle the league and Europe, exhibited by the fact they’ve won just two of their last ten games – and none of the last four.
City have only won one of the last three meetings at Brighton though. That should give them some belief.
