Fatal crash on I-87 in Catskill under investigation
CATSKILL, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- State police announced they are investigating a fatal crash that took place in Catskill on April 19. The crash occurred on I-87 northbound near mile marker 108.9, between Exits 20 and 21.
On Friday around 6:41 p.m., officers responded to the report of a one-car rollover crash. The initial investigation determined that a Ford Escape heading northbound in the passing lane left the roadway, crashing through the guiderail and striking an embankment, which caused the car to turn over.
Police say the driver, identified as Regina Levine, 66, of Amsterdam, was taken to Albany Medical Center in critical condition, where she later died from her injuries on April 22. The crash remains under investigation.
