Man pleads guilty to cocaine possession in Amsterdam
AMSTERDAM, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Manhattan man has pleaded guilty to possessing cocaine with the intent to distribute, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office. William De La Rosa, 29, now faces five to 40 years in prison when he is sentenced.
In his plea, De La Rosa admitted to driving to a hotel in Amsterdam on January 25, reportedly planning to sell over two pounds of cocaine to another person. Upon his arrival, De La Rosa was met by law enforcement, who searched his car and located the cocaine.
In addition to his prison sentence, De La Rosa faces a fine of up to $5 million and a term of post-release supervision of four years and up to life. His sentencing is scheduled for August 16.
