1 arrested after stabbing outside Lafayette High School
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- Buffalo police responded to a call at Lafayette High School on Tuesday morning, where one person was arrested following an alleged stabbing.
Police and school resource officers responded to a call about a fight just after 8 a.m., leading to a heavy presence of officers around the school. They say two males were involved in a dispute outside the school where one allegedly stabbed the other.
One person sustained a slashing injury, while the other was taken to ECMC by ambulance to be treated for what appear to be non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
Police did not reveal if the two were students, and no charges were specified.
"Fortunately, others were not hurt," a statement from Buffalo Public Schools read. "Superintendent Dr. Tonja Williams has directed Crisis Prevention and Response Staff to be onsite at the school to provide support to students and staff. As this is an ongoing criminal investigation, we cannot comment further at this time."
