NGPD: CVS employee charged with alleged narcotics thefts
NORTH GREENBUSH, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The North Greenbush Police Department announced that an arrest has been made in connection to multiple thefts at the Defreestville CVS Pharmacy following an investigation. Joseph Stetz, of East Greenbush, is facing numerous charges.
Stetz is accused of allegedly stealing prescription narcotics from bottles waiting to be picked up by customers while working as an employee at the pharmacy. He was taken into custody by the New York State Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement on April 18. Stetz now faces the following charges:
Charges
- Two counts of first-degree falsifying business records
- Three counts of illegally obtaining prescription controlled substances by fraud
- Three counts of petit larceny
- Three counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance
Stetz was released and is scheduled to return to court at a later date. Police say CVS Corporate has been cooperative in the investigation.
