BGT fans spot major problem with contestant Genevieve Cote after huge fix row and ‘fake tears’

BRITAIN’S Got Talent fans have raised questions about Geneviève Côté’s unusual skill.

The professional ‘noise maker’ stunned audiences with her incredible ability to mimic animals and other sounds.

She sat on a stall in front of a huge screen that showed scenes from a jungle as she made the noises and atmospheric music herself.

Genevieve, who was born in Montreal, left the judges in awe as she brought the nature clips to life with her voice alone.

As well as the sounds of the animals, she performed opera too, showing off her impressive vocal talent.

“Is she doing the noise?” a stunned Amanda Holden is seen asking as she performs as waves, birds, monkeys, and peaceful background music to wild animals in the habitats, just like in a nature documentary. “I wasn’t expecting that!”

“Oh my God she’s bloody great!” smiles Ant from the side of the stage.

“She’s brilliant, right?” Simon Cowell tellingly says to his fellow judges.

However, many fans have suggested that she could run the risk of being a one-trek-pony now that her hidden talent has been revealed.

Taking to X, one fan wrote: “Now the surprise has gone, what will she do in the live shows”

“One simple trick being dragged out for 10 minutes.
strange animal noise lady, well it’s novel at least, not sure it’s something I’d want to see again though,” echoed a second.

“I’m guessing Royal Variety but she won’t win.
I like her but what would she do in the next round now the surprise element’s gone?” said a third.

This comes after claims that her performance was fixed as this isn’t the first time she’s taken to the Got Talent stage.

Back in March 2023, Geneviève appeared on Canada’s Got Talent, and left the judges so awestruck that Howie Mandel gave her his golden buzzer.

She made it to the finals, before being beaten by dance group Conversion.

However, her performance clearly left an impression on Mandel, who brought her back for America’s Got Talent: Fantasy League to be part of his team this January.

And in between those two appearances, Geneviève also auditioned for France’s version of the show, ‘La France a un incroyable talent’.

In that case, judge Karine Le Marchland gave her the golden buzzer, sending her through to the semi-finals, where she was then eliminated.

Britain’s Got Talent does allow anyone to take part in the competition, regardless of experience, however, viewers have become increasingly agitated over participants that have been given multiple shots at stardom.

She was also accused of “fake tears” after she became overcome with emotions.

2007: Paul Potts – The first ever winner of BGT was opera singer Paul Potts. He saw off competition from Connie Talbot, The Bar Wizards, Bessie Cursors, Damon Scott and Kombat Breakers to win.

2008: George Sampson – In series two of Britain’s Got Talent a young George Sampson wowed judges and viewers with his impressive dance moves.

2009: Diversity – Dance troupe Diversity scooped the BGT crown and beat of competition from singer Susan Boyle, who was strongly tipped to win the show.

2010 – Spellbound: Gymnastic troupe Spellbound really impressed judge Simon Cowell with their stunning routines and incredible stunts in 2010. At the time, the music mogul said: “I can only say on live television that was one of the most astonishing things I have ever seen.”

2011 – Jai McDowall: Viewers were stunned when Jai McDowall won the show in 2011, as young singer Ronan Parke was the favourite to win the series.

2012 – Ashleigh and Pudsy: Ashleigh Butler and her adorable pooch Pudsey stole hearts when they performed in series six of the talent show.

2013 – Attraction: Hungarian shadow artist group Attraction won the seventh series of Britain’s Got Talent. The squad had taken part in the German version of BGT in 2012, however, they had only placed seventh.

2014 – Collabro: Classical music band Collabro faced tough competition in the 2014 final as all the finalist were singers, but they went on to scoop the crown.

2015 – Jules O’Dwyer & Matisse: Dog lovers everywhere could’t get enough of Jules O’Dwyer and pet pup Matisse. The impressive duo even performed on a tightrope to secure their win.

2016 – Richard Jones: Army man Richard Jones became the first magician in the show’s history to win Britain’s Got Talent.

2017 – Tokio Myers: Pianist Tokio Myers impressed the judges with his blend of classical and electronic music.

2018 – Lost Voice Guy: Stand-up comedian Lost Voice Guy, who performs with a speech synthesiser, was diagnosed with cerebral palsy when he was six months old. However, he defied the odds and is a BGT champ.

2019 – Colin Thackery: Veteran army officer Colin Thackery warmed the nations hearts with his singing voice. He was crowned winner of BGT after singing Michael Ball’s Love Changes Everything.

2020 – Jon Courtenay: Singer and pianist Jon Courtenay was Ant and Dec’s Golden Buzzer act. After he won the £250,000 prize he said: “”Just amazing, I can’t believe it.”

2022 – Axel Blake: Comedian Axel Blake scooped the crown after the show was off air for two years during Covid.

2023 – Viggo Venn: The reigning BGT champ is comedian Viggo Venn.

‘The woman that was doing the nature sounds was on Canada’s got talent. She got a big standing ovation then,” one fan ranted online.

“So when she started shedding tears on BGT it was an act. She knew the audience was going to love it”

“She has been on AGT and is a well known in the USA. Another one brought in,” said a second.

While a third added: “She has been on another got talent before in a different country, this show is so fixed!”

The hit ITV show returned to screens on Saturday 20th April and drew in a whopping average of 5 million viewers, with a peak of 5.8 million.

The impressive ratings make it the channel’s biggest overnight audience of the year so far.

The FA Cup quarter-final match last month drew in 5.5 million viewers.

Despite the soaring figures, the ratings didn’t match last year’s launch episode which raked in 6.2million.
