'What is she doing?': MSNBC analyst trashes Judge Cannon's latest Trump maneuver
Former Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO) expressed concern on Tuesday that Judge Aileen Cannon is once again throwing sand in the gears of justice in an effort to delay former President Donald Trump's classified documents trial.
Appearing on MSNBC's "Morning Joe," McCaskill was asked by host Joe Scarborough about Cannon putting out "one bizarre ruling after another" and "is doing her best, it seems, to slow" the trial in which Trump is accused of illegally retaining top-secret government documents and obstructing the government's efforts to retrieve them.
McCaskill agreed with Scarborough's sentiment.
"I'm obviously very concerned about this judge," she said. "And I think people who have watched her rulings carefully have a really good reason to scratch their head and think, 'What is she doing? Why is she doing this?' It is not helping, the rulings she's made. She clearly is fine with this case happening after the election, she clearly is going to do that."

McCaskill also warned that Cannon could pull off a maneuver that would bail Trump out before a jury even has a chance to hear crucial evidence.
"The only thing that worries me is does she go ahead and let the case come up, then does she swear a jury in and dismiss the case?" she asked. "Then, of course, it is game over, regardless of whether he wins or not. That is a fear I also have and I think some other lawyers I've spoken with share that same fear."
The former Democratic senator then emphasized that the documents case was "a strong case by the book" and that it deserved a full hearing in front of a jury.
"He clearly wanted to keep the records, for god knows why," she said. "The evidence is overwhelming."
