I’m a celeb esthetician – an ‘overzealous’ mistake can ruin your eyebrows, my go-to buys are best to make them thicker
NOWADAYS it’s all about achieving the thick eyebrow look.
One beauty expert shared her go-to buys for creating the perfect finish.
Kristin Gunn, celebrity esthetician and owner of Halcyon Skincare and BeauxMedspa, shared her top tips with The U.S. Sun[/caption]Kristin Gunn, celebrity esthetician and owner of Halcyon Skincare and BeauxMedspa in Texas, spoke exclusively to The U.S. Sun about her favorite eyebrow tips.
The eyebrow professional revealed one of the easiest ways to beef up your brows.
“Achieving thicker eyebrows may simply be dependent on adding more consistent grooming techniques to your daily routine,” she explained.
Gunn also warned against an all too common eyebrow grooming error.
“Don’t make the mistake of over-plucking and waxing, it can take six to eight weeks for the eyebrows to grow back completely,” she said.
“Sometimes if you’re too overzealous with your tweezing, you can damage the hair follicle permanently, which prevents the hair from ever growing back.”
The experts at Ardour Brows & Lashes broke down the issue with overgrooming your brows.
“Over-plucking or over-tweezing eyebrows has consequences including damage to the hair follicles, thinning or sparse brows, ingrown hairs, and infection,” they explained.
“Too much trauma to the hair follicles can affect hair regrowth, and even lead to permanent hair loss.”
To avoid over-plucking, the professionals recommended against tweezing your brows every day.
According to the experts, maintaining a regular eyebrow grooming routine works best for regrowth.
“If you pluck your brow hairs daily, they will start growing at different rates so they will look uneven,” the beauty pros wrote.
“Depending on the rate of your hair growth, you can pluck stray hairs every one to three weeks, that will be your safest bet.”
Gunn also weighed in on the best ingredients to look out for when it comes to achieving the perfect thick brow.
ESSENTIAL INGREDIENTS
The expert suggested incorporating castor oil into your regular beauty routine.
She explained that the oil is “full of nutrients and can help make your eyebrows thicker.”
Gunn recommended applying the oil on the eyebrow area in the evening and leaving it overnight.
“The castor oil will nourish the hair follicle and can help your eyebrows grow back faster,” she said.

“If you don’t have castor oil on hand, coconut oil would be my second choice,” she revealed.
According to the expert, you should look for foods containing biotin, vitamin A, vitamin C, and vitamin E.
She explained that the ingredients “help with hair growth in general, and also have a positive effect on the eyebrows.”
