Here’s a roundup of high school varsity action on Monday, April 22.

Baseball

Pikesville 10, Hereford 4: The Panthers put up seven runs in the first inning and cruised to victory. Jack Millman and Issac Garonzik each totaled three hits with RBIs in the win. Ian Davis drove in two runs, while Will Holaday and Michael Payne also had RBIs. Millman struck out 11 in six innings to get the win.

Dulaney 11, Western Tech 4: Dylan Townsend doubled twice and chased home three runs to power the Lions’ offense. Drew Ranck had a pair of hits and two RBIs, while Thomas Mezzullo and Brendan Altman each finished with three hits with Altman driving in a run.

Glen Burnie 10, Meade 0: Peyton Ingle tossed four scoreless innings, striking out six and allowing one hit to lead the Gophers to the win. Mason Williams doubled twice and picked up an RBI, while Elijah Simms doubled, singled and scored two runs.

Broadneck 10, Southern 1: The Bruins scored five runs in the bottom of the first after Devin McGowan doubled, Andrew Katzen hit a sac fly and Peyton Cassidy knocked in a run with a single, one of two RBIs on the day. Kobe Owen earned the win for Broadneck. He surrendered seven hits and one run over six innings, striking out four. Calvin Cook led the offense with a double and single.

Aberdeen 5, Bohemia Manor 4: The Eagles built a four-run lead after four innings and held off the Eagles’ late rally. Trevor Zakowsky had two of Aberdeen’s four hits and drove in three runs. Justin Simpers also picked up an RBI. On the mound, Tyler Kenney and Quincy Mullen combined on a six-hitter.

Havre de Grace 10, North Harford 0: Bryce Bauer struck out 12 of the 20 batters he faced, throwing a two-hitter for the Warriors. Taylor Blevins, Logan Ward and Rhys Eder each had two RBIs to lead the offense. Dyllon Zachry-Nance chipped in two hits and an RBI.

Fallston 7, North East 2: The Cougars pounded out 12 hits in the win. Zach Loewe, Drew Murphy, Nate Slicher, Aiden Deck and Josh Busler each had two-hit days. Jake Plummer had a hit and two RBIs. Murphy, Slicher, Deck and Zach Stromberger also drove in runs.

Rising Sun 4, Patterson Mill 3: The game was scoreless going into the bottom of the fifth when the Tigers plated four runs. The Huskies tried to rally but couldn’t finish it off. The Huskies fought back with four consecutive hits with two outs including doubles by Tre McInnes, Michael Hemelt and Noah Thomas and an RBI single by Aiden Myers.

Century 5, Harford Tech 1: Dominic Califano threw a six-hitter, allowing just one unearned run on the mound for the Knights. He struck out four. He also drove in a run offensive. Hunter Elrod and Mason Hendricks also plated runs. Chase Speiden had a pair of base hits.

Liberty 9, Francis Scott Key 4: A five-run second inning staked the Lions to a big lead and they cruised to victory, snapping a two-game losing streak. Nate Martin tripled, doubled and drove in two runs, while Michael Martin singled twice and had three RBIs. Chase Miller chipped in two hits and two RBIs.

South Carroll 3, Manchester Valley 2: Three Cavaliers pitchers combined on a six-hitter, totaling 11 strikeouts. Brody Green picked up the win. Offensively, Hayden Rathmann doubled twice and drove in two runs. Caleb Evans also had an RBI hit.

Reservoir 2, Howard 1: The Gators outlasted the Lions in a marathon 12-inning game. Matt Russell went 2-for-4 including the walk-off double in the bottom of the 12th. Sebastian Fuentes started for the Gators and went six innings and also hit a solo home run. Cole Folkenberg threw six shutout innings of relief. For Howard, Sean Dawes started eight innings and struck out seven while Dylan Abrahams had the lone RBI.

River Hill 1, Long Reach 0: The Hawks walked it off in the bottom of the ninth against the Lightning on Ethan McCoy’s game-winning RBI. Henry Zatkowski struck out 15 in 7 ⅔ innings. Matthew Brown pitched 6 ⅔ shoutout innings for Long Reach.

Softball

Bel Air 5, Bohemia Manor 2: Sofia Gallahue led the Bobcats with her arm and her bat Monday. In the circle, she struck out seven in a four-hitter. At the plate, she had two hits, including a home run, and drove in two runs. Elizabeth Zarsona and Ava Vecchioni also had RBIs.

Fallston 9, North East 1: Abigail Marmen and Maddy Burns each doubled and homered to pace the Cougars’ offense. Marmen also singled and drove in three runs. Burns totaled two RBIs and struck out 17 to get the win in the circle. Alesia Rowe also had three hits and May Ambrose had two RBIs.

Fallston 11, North East 7: In the second game of a doubleheader, the Cougars rallied with five runs in the top of the seventh to pick up the sweep. Marmen had four more RBIs while Burns went 4-for-4 in Game 2 with her second home run of the day. Mary Pfaff drove in three runs in the win.

Havre de Grace 14, Aberdeen 4: Brielle Croxsell, Sarah Weitzel and Lily Dalton all had three hits with Croxsell driving in three runs and Weitzel and Dalton each plating two in the win.

John Carroll 5, Harford Tech 3: Sydney Barker and Savannah Claycomb each had two hits and two RBIs to lead the Patriots. Claycomb also got the win in the circle.

Rising Sun 5, Patterson Mill 0: The Huskies managed just six hits in a shutout loss to last year’s Class 2A state champions. Lily Baldwin, Kaylyn Pulket, Savannah Reedy, Audrey March, Addison Talts and Cadence Pfistner all singled.

Dundalk 12, Patapsco 1: Julie Burger shut down the Patriots, throwing a five-inning two hitter. At the plate, Burger had three hits and three RBIs. Makayla Woods backed her with three hits and two RBIs. Kenisha Gelpi and Carlie Locklear also drove in two runs.

Western Tech 19, Hereford 3: The Wolverines scored at least two runs in each of the game’s five innings and rolled to victory. Jada Williams and Ella Durham each drove in three runs in the win. Bailey Allen, Isabella Alban and Danica Minter each had two RBIs.

Perry Hall 12, Sparrows Point 3: Madison Carl went 4-for-5 with a triple and three RBIs to lead a big offensive day for the Gators. Shalimar Lopez added three hits and Amber Deems had two, each also driving in a run.

Glenelg 21, Wilde Lake 1: Addie Pence led the Gladiators offense, finishing 4-for-5 with six RBIs. Kaylee Brotan earned the win pitching four innings and striking out six. For Wilde Lake, Olivia Bixler went 1-for-2 with a double.

Boys lacrosse

Bel Air 14, Perry Hall 4: Ayden Shugart poured in six goals and assisted on another to lead the Bobcats in the nonconference win. Grant Smith backed him with three goals and three assists, and Devin Trezciak added two goals. Peter Myers, Augustis Anastasi and Jason Pitzer also scored.

Fallston 17, Havre de Grace 7: Jacob MacMillan handed out five assists while scoring two himself to lead the Cougars. Ian Swartzendruber had a team-high five goals, with Chris King right behind him with four. Gage McKenna chipped in two goals. Landon Mills made seven saves.

Annapolis 14, Patterson Mill 8: For the Huskies in the loss, RJ Wilhelm and Drew Pape each scored three goals with Wilhelm adding an assist. Adam Chefcheck and Todd Lewis had a goal each and Matt Bechtel handed out three assists. In net, Sean Catalano made 11 saves.

Westminster 10, Winters Mill 9: Jack Hitchcock had a hand in eight of the Owls’ 10 goals, scoring four and assisting on four. Chase Zepp backed him with a hat trick. Jacob Speigle contributed two goals and an assist, while Gavin Gifford also scored. Nick Compher and Cam Webb each had assists. The Owls also got a spectacular effort in goal from Connor McNamara with 15 saves. For Winters Mill, Reed Postlethwait scored a game-high five goals. Camden Deming and Andrew Owens each contributed three points.

South Carroll 9, Francis Scott Key 6: Caden Petrucci scored four goals to lead the Cavaliers past the Eagles. Colin Abbott and Cutter Stanton backed him with two goals each. Cannon Hunter totaled a goal and two assists, and Braydyn Arthur, Jack Laur and Jackson Shekore each had an assist.

Girls lacrosse

Westminster 18, Winters Mill 3: Kate McAlonan scored two goals and handed out six assists to lead the Owls in the win. Aspen Higgs and Lauren Appleby shared the team-high with three goals. Morgan Steigerwald and Reese Sholkoff each scored two. Riley Bunting and Appleby each claimed five draw controls, while Higgs and Sammy Martins each had four.

Century 11, Liberty 5: Delaney Sandbank scored five goals to lead the Knights over the rival Lions. She also sent out two assists. Natalie Opatovsky netted three goals, while Marley Carfine finished with two goals and two assists. Annika Wray scored three goals to lead Liberty.

South Carroll 17, Francis Scott Key 9: Leah Miller poured in eight goals to lead the Cavaliers in the win. Charlotte Harrington scored four goals and Ava Krantz handed out three assists. Cailin Yankle finished with two goals and an assist. In goal, Caelin Lopes made seven saves. For FSK, Drew Watkins, Jena Stambaugh and Lily Bertier each scored two goals.

Mercy 9, Gerstell 7: Mercy’s Julianna Mills led all scorers with four goals. For Gerstell, Cambrie Franks had three goals and an assist, and Sara Fenwick had two goals and an assist. Ava Reed had 10 saves in goal.

Patterson Mill 19, Bohemia Manor 0: Maddy Ruby made six saves to earn the shutout for the Huskies. Offensively, Rylie Madsen and Addison Harmel each netted four goals. Ava Lopano totaled three goals and two assists. Riley Crain and Maddie Tunney each had two goals, while Sam Chittum had one goal to go with six assists.

Perryville 15, Aberdeen 6: Despite the loss, Aberdeen goalie Ellie Beinkampen made 26 saves. Jenna Stevens scored four goals for the Eagles. Lauren Miranda and Iyeko Acheneje also scored goals.

Coed tennis

Hereford 9, Pikesville 0: The Bulls picked up 6-0, 6-0 sweeps at four positions: Ivanka Charchalis (second girls singles), Lukas Everett and Henry Bishop (second boys doubles), Anna Kurtz and Athena Zhou (first girls doubles) and Kiana Eshaghi and Layla Combs (second girls doubles). Will Cogan, Richard Wang and Julia Carrese rounded out the singles winners. Nadav Weisberg and Matt Nawrocki won the top boys doubles match.

Fallston 9, North East 2: Jesse Kilian, Tanner Boyd, Ryan Blair, Juliana Kovalets and Gwen Karatonis each picked up singles wins for the Cougars. Doubles wins came from the teams of Colby Resh and Edison Liu, Zach Boczar and Luca Cangelosi, Kasey Resh and Ashley Tran, and Skylar Brown and Ava Meyer.

Boys tennis

Marriotts Ridge 5, Centennial 0: Mukundh Boopathi and Rafa Feldman won at No. 1 and No. 2 singles. The doubles pairings of Tyler Wang and Jerry He, Felipe Arantes Gabriel and Tobi Ijiyemi, and Sai Anuj Chodavarapu and Sam Lim each won.

Atholton, Oakland Mills 0: Aryan Singh and Nikhil Ramani won at No. 1 and No. 2 singles for the Raiders. The doubles pairings of Jason Lilly and Sam Li, Joel Ihm and Philip Wang and Arjun Sieracki and Nathan Li each won.

Winters Mill 3, Century 2: Micah Ober’s 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles led the Falcons’ win. Peter Towle and Wade Hayes won at first doubles for the Falcons while Renzo Balsamo and Anthony Mainucci won at No. 3. Century got wins from Kushik Inguva at second singles and the team of Jack Gibson and Greyson Glenn at second doubles.

Liberty 5, Francis Scott Key 0: Nikhil Andhavarapu led the Lions with a sweep at first singles. Louis Major nearly matched him, winning second singles 6-1, 6-0. Arjun Mistry and Hayden Speace won the first doubles match 6-0, 6-0. Other doubles victories came from Austin Shade and Jason Murphy, and Chase King and Jayden Venable.

Manchester Valley 3, South Carroll 2: August Jones won first singles, 6-1, 6-0, and Nick Phillips swept the second singles match to lead the Mavericks’ win. Noah Markowitz and Austin Zeigenfuse won 6-1, 6-1 at third doubles. South Carroll’s teams of Michael Mooney and Kyle Hastings, and Chase Loden and Joel Lee won the top two doubles matches.

Girls tennis

Centennial 4, Marriotts Ridge 1: Michelle Fradlin and Emma Fradlin won at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively, for the Eagles. Ariela Dumesh and Joanna Blackman, and Emily Han and Alina Liu won their doubles matches. For Marriotts Ridge, Vin Badugu and Christina Ottman won.

Atholton 5, Oakland Mills 0: Imani Smith and Clara Kadingo each won in singles for the Raiders. The doubles pairings of Angelina Gizdova and Chelsea Sun, Michelle Kim and Katie Plasse and Crystal Hicks and Sophia Hufft each won.

Manchester Valley 3, South Carroll 2: The Mavericks got two wins in third-set tiebreakers to become the first county team to beat the Cavaliers this season. Talula Castanzo topped Sydney Mossman at second singles, 6-2, 5-7, 10-7. Tori Kelley and Olivia Watts won at second doubles 4-6, 6-2, 10-7. Katy Resh added a win at first singles for the Mavericks. South Carroll’s Audrey Lillycrop and Caroline Aliftiras won in three sets at first doubles. Sophie Kebede and Anissa Smith won in doubles.

Century 4, Winters Mill 1: Bella Filippi won the top singles match 6-1, 6-0 to highlight the Knights’ win. Century also swept doubles play with wins coming from the teams of Addison Mahoney and Anna Wu, Gabby Poulose and Morgan Harris, and Rachel Mack and Gabby Bartel.

Liberty 5, Francis Scott Key 0: Grace Maerten and Gabby Krcma each picked up singles wins for the Lions. Amelia Mustico and Payton Oakley won first doubles, Mia Leonhartt and Mallory Stevenson took the second match, and Abigail Zentner and Aubrey Anderson won at No. 3 doubles.
