Man found guilty of murder after 2022 stabbing
SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Schenectady County District Attorney's Office announced the guilty conviction of Christopher Smith-Wadsworth, 32, of Schenectady, following a jury trial in Schenectady County Court. This conviction is in connection with the death of Sutlesh Girdharry, of Schenectady.

- Second-degree murder
- Third-degree criminal possession of a weapon
Smith-Wadsworth was accused of using a knife to stab Girdharry, who was unarmed in front of a house on Curry Road on January 1, 2022. This was following a New Year's celebration at the home where a fight broke out between people at the residence.
Smith-Wadsworth was free on bail during the trial and taken into custody after the jury's verdict. He will face a maximum of 25 years to life in prison following sentencing on June 25.
