Jayson Vayson and Takeru Inoue make weight for regional title fight
Tomorrow we’ll see WBO Asia Pacific Light Flyweight champion Jayson Vayson (11-1-1-1, 6) defending his title against unbeaten Japanese challenger Takeru Inoue (4-0, 2) [井上彪] in Osaka, in a bout streamed for free on YouTube.
Today, ahead of their clash, the two men made weigh for the contest The champion was comfortably under the 108lbs limit, coming in with room to spare at 107.75lbs, and looked in great shape for his first defense. The Filipino, who won the title last year when he stopped Ryuya Yamanaka, explained that whilst Inoue was a strong fighter, he was going to be aggressive and take the fight to Inoue, to defeat him.
Inoue on the other hand was bang on the 108lb limit for his first professional title shot. He explained that he had been gradually losing weight, and was very comfortable at 108lbs. Talking about Vayson, he explained that the champion was in great shape, but shorter than expected, and that he'll keep that in mind when the two men get in the ring, but fight his usual style
