I Hate It Here
I watch the White Sox play and I think to myself, “I Can Fix Him (No I Really Can).” Then, I am honest with myself and remember that I can’t. And so, I present to you a game recap in which I told myself I Can Do It With a Broken Heart multiple times.
Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me (Garrett Crochet)? Not the Phillies. The lefthander’s night was cut incredibly short after he gave up seven runs in just three-plus innings. Alec Bohm sent two balls sailing out of Citizen’s Bank Park, in the bottom of the first and the bottom of the third. To make things worse, they were both three-run home runs. In just two trips to the plate, Bohm bombed six massive RBIs.
How Did It End? Crochet finally got the hook in the fourth after giving up his third home run, this time a solo shot, to Whit Merrifield. Crochet’s ERA has now shot up to a concerning 5.61. Here is hoping that Ethan Katz can help with something.
Chloe or Sam or Sophia or Marcus (or actually, Chris Flexen) came in to relieve the starter. Flexen almost finished the game for the South Siders. He stopped the bleeding, giving up no runs over four innings of work.
imgonnagetyouback is what the White Sox would have said if they actually had an offense that was functional. Instead it took seven innings for them to get a hit. Gavin Sheets cancelled the postgame show with a single.
Seven shutouts in 19 games? The White Sox are Guilty As Sin.
