Granger ISD teacher on leave after accusations of 'inappropriate behavior' in a classroom
GRANGER, Texas (KXAN) -- A Granger Independent School District employee is on administrative leave following allegations of "inappropriate behavior by a teacher in the classroom," according to a message from the superintendent provided by the district.
The district said when it learned of the allegations, it contacted Child Protect Services (CPS) and "promptly placed the employee on administrative leave."
Initially, those "allegations were not substantiated," following an investigation with CPS and GISD, the statement said. The teacher was able to return to the classroom.
On Thursday, the district said CPS reopened the investigation, and the employee was "placed on leave immediately pending the outcome of this additional investigation," the message reads.
"We take these matters very seriously and are conducting a thorough investigation in accordance with District policies and procedures," the district said in the statement.
