Albany's Spectrum 8 Theatres sets grand reopening celebration
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Spectrum 8 Theatres, located at 290 Delaware Avenue in Albany, recently announced its reopening date as Wednesday, April 24. Now under the ownership of Scene One Entertainment, the movie theater has announced its grand reopening celebration.
All movie tickets on Wednesday will be $5 with all ticket sales going to support Youth FX. Youth FX is an organization that empowers young people by teaching the technical and creative aspects of film making and media production.
On Wednesday, the Scene One Spectrum 8 Theatres will be showing some classic movies. On Thursday, the theater will begin showing new releases.

- "Amélie" (2001) at 1:35 p.m., 4:40 p.m., and 7:20 p.m.
- "Cinema Paradiso" (1988) at 1 p.m., 4 p.m., and 7 p.m.
- "March of the Penguins" (2005) at 1:20 p.m., 3:30 p.m., 5:40 p.m., and 7:40 p.m.
- "Polyester" (1981) with Odorama Cards at 1:05 p.m., 3:15 p.m., 5:30 p.m., and 7:45 p.m.
- "Rebel Without a Cause" (1955) at 1:10 p.m., 4:10 p.m., and 7:10 p.m.
- "The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert" (1994) at 2 p.m., 5 p.m. and 7:50 p.m.
- "The Bodyguard" (1992) at 1:30 p.m., 4:30 p.m., and 7:25 p.m.
- "The Wizard of Oz" (1939) at 1:40 p.m., 4:20 p.m., and 6:50 p.m.

Landmark Spectrum 8 Theatres first opened in 1983 and held its last screening as Landmark on February 22 before it was revived by Scene One. Scene One Entertainment operates two other theaters in New York: Scene One Movieland in Schenectady and Scene One Wilton Mall Cinemas.
