Dump truck struck by train in Halfmoon
HALFMOON, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A dump truck driver is recovering after he failed to yield and was struck by an oncoming train in the Town of Halfmoon. The incident happened around 1:20 on Thursday afternoon.
The Saratoga County Sheriff's Office says an investigation found a CAT dump truck failed to yield to the right of way and was struck by a Berkshire and Eastern (BERX) train on a private road near 80 Ushers Road. The driver sustained hip and head injuries and was taken to Albany Medical Center.
Deputies say his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. The train crew was not injured in the crash and an investigation is ongoing.
