Warm and windy end to the week before rain chances increase over weekend
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Warmer and windy conditions return to western Oregon and Washington Friday as sunshine remains in abundance.
Stronger and gusty easterly winds will help send Portland area temperatures into the low to mid-70s on Friday afternoon. Wind gusts could be near 30-35 mph through the afternoon and evening hours. Winds will slow after sunset as mild temperatures remain.
Another round of April showers is expected over part of Oregon and Washington this weekend. A dry start to the day may turn damp late in the day on Saturday. Light rain showers could arrive in the Willamette Valley by 2 p.m.
Good news - A mostly dry and mild morning is expected Saturday morning for those participating in the SOLVE clean-up efforts around Portland.
A few lingering showers are possible on Sunday as temperatures sit nearly 10 degrees cooler than Friday. This brief stent of near-average temperatures comes to an end next week.
Another round of sunshine and mild temperatures sends the mercury back into the upper 60s on Monday. Another drying trend takes shape through the middle of the week next week.
