Hara and Narai make weight for Japanese title fight
Tomorrow fight fans will get the chance to see a much anticipated JBC Super Featherweight title bout between Yuna Hara (14-2-1, 8) [原 優奈] and Tsubasa Narai (12-2, 9) [奈良井翼], who clash in a Champion Carnival bout. Today, ahead of their bout, the two men took part in their weigh-in for the contest, with both men making the 130lb limit with no issues.
On the scales Harai, the defending champion and the notable taller man, was 129.75lbs, and looked in great shape for his second defense. He explained that he remained highly motivated for the bout, and had prepared well for the contest, though had no specific impression of Narai, making it clear that he was going to figure his opponent out when he was in the ring.
Interestingly he added that he wanted to show a new Yuna Hara, and that he had perfected his mind and body, whilst promising to show something a little bit different. Despite being the Japanese champion his aim isn't to just be the best in Japan, and is looking to claim a second title later in the year, after he gets past Narai.
As for the challenger he was a little bit lighter, coming in close to 127.5lbs, and looked in great shape, full of confidence. He had apparently read interviews Hara had given in the build up to the bout, but revealed that what was said didn't bother him, and he seemed to admit that he was a lot more mature than he had once been. He also spoke incredibly confidently, stating that he was going to win the title for those supporting him
