It’s her little girl’s first birthday, but she said as she won’t remember it, it’s not worth spending money on[/caption]Instead, she’d asked them to bring £4 to contribute to their garden redo.
The mother-of-two explained in a video on her TikTok page, which has since gone viral, all the “unusual” ways she was organising the bash.
“I specifically put on the invitations, ‘Please do not bring gifts,'” she said.
“Homegirl needs nothing.
“If you feel inclined to bring something, consider $5 (£4) because we’re trying to remodel our backyard.”
Adding that their back garden is a “train wreck”, Rachel also said that she’s “very picky” so doesn’t want anyone “to buy s**t for my kids”.
She also instructed guests to eat before they come, as she wasn’t going to providing anything other than some snacks for the kids.
And she wouldn’t be serving alcohol either.
While the party has a strict hour-and-a-half time limit, and guests will be expected to leave as soon as it comes to an end.
Defending her choices, Rachel insisted that her daughter won’t remember the party, so she doesn’t see the point in splashing out on a big one to mark her first birthday.
People were quick to judge Rachel in the comments section, with one writing: “This is the worst first birthday party ever.”
“What are you even inviting people to your house for?” another added.
“You seem like a real fun person,” a third commented.
“Why even have a party?” someone else asked.
“So you want your guests to get up extra early on a Saturday morning and you’re not even going to feed them?” another questioned.
“Just say you’re cheap!”
“It’s giving narcissism,” someone else raged.
