Owner of Colonie restaurant destroyed in fire looking for temporary location
COLONIE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The owner of a restaurant that was destroyed in a fire and explosion on April 4 is trying to figure out her next steps. The owner of Pad Thai Noodle on Everett Road in Colonie told NEWS10 she is looking for a temporary space to reopen the restaurant while the current location is rebuilt.
More than $10,000 has been raised to help the family. The owner said she is grateful for everyone's support.
"My family appreciates that for your help because my customers, the community tries to aid my family during this difficult time. That means a lot to my family," owner Sarinya Singthon said.
The restaurant opened eight years ago. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but officials believe it was caused by a natural gas explosion.
