NY, NJ have longest commute times in the US, but how long are they?
NEW YORK (PIX11) – New Yorkers have the longest commute time in the U.S., according to the Department of Energy.
Commuters spend, on average, a little over 33 minutes getting to work every day. New Jersey follows behind, with employees taking just over 30 minutes to get to the office.
Both states are above the national average, which is 27 minutes, according to the Department of Energy. That means New Yorkers spend about 26 more hours a year commuting to work than the rest of the country averages.
