St. Marys High School hit hard by overnight storms
ST. MARYS (KSNT) - Repair crews are working to fix damage at a local high school caused by a powerful storm in northeast Kansas.
A 27 News reporter on the ground in St. Marys spoke with USD 321 Superintendent Kerry Lacock at the high school to learn more about how the storm impacted the educational center. Lacock gave a summary of the damage including knocked over power lines, rolled over HVAC units, holes torn in the roof and multiple trees down. He also says several cars had windows blown out during the severe weather.
The full extent of the damage is not known and is still being assessed Thursday. 27 News is working to determine how this will impact classes at the school.
The St. Marys community was hit hard by a storm that caused power outages in the local area. This also led to police entering non-emergency reporting and the issuance of a boil water advisory for some residents.
