My life has been ruined after I lost my daughter
DEAR DEIDRE: Since unexpectedly losing my daughter, my life has been in ruins, and now I am faced with the hard reality of paying for a funeral I can’t afford.
All I want is for her to have a proper send-off, but my bank won’t approve a loan and now I don’t know what to do.
I am her 62-year-old father and after losing my wife a few years ago, my daughter was all I had left. She was only 29 when she was involved in a fatal car accident.
Hearing the news broke my heart and I have been struggling to cope ever since.
As she was so young she had no money in place to cover the cost of a funeral, so it has all been left to me to organise.
The trouble is, I have barely any income and my credit score couldn’t be worse. So planning and paying for her funeral has become an issue.
I’m trying everything I can, but I am in a complete mess. Please help.
