My DIY face wash makes an incredible difference for my pores & texture – my skin goes backwards big time without it
A HEALTH-CONSCIOUS mom has shared how she makes her DIY face wash that transforms her skin.
The skincare concoction revitalized her texture, shrunk her pores, and gave her a glowy, more youthful appearance.
Lindsay O’Donnell (@linds_odonnell) describes herself as a “healthy mom with a shopping habit.”
As someone who prioritizes wellness practices, that also extends to her natural beauty routines.
She shared a homemade face wash in an Instagram Reel that made a big difference.
The mom called it the DIY face wash that truly changed her skin in “the most incredible ways.”
She said in the video caption that her skin texture improved, her pores have shrunk and her skin glows more than ever.
Not everyone can handle harsh chemicals and Lindsay is among those who can’t.
Less is more when it comes to her skincare.
Whenever she attempts to stop using her homemade remedy and try storebought cleaners, her “skin goes backwards big time.”
It is made up of five easy-to-get ingredients, and one is free.
The natural face wash consists of water, Castile soap, rosehip oil, moisturizing oil, and honey mixed in a chic glass pump dispenser.

“The last video you said tea tree oil.. but my skin was so dry out… Maybe it’s better with rosehip oil,” a viewer wrote.
“I like mixing it up and trying other oils with this recipe. Everyone’s skin is so different and rosehip is much more hydrating!” Lindsey replied.
Lindsey also said in a comment that she has used wild orange previously.
The only bummer about the DIY method is that it isn’t long-lasting, so it does expire.
Lindsay recommended making it every two weeks or as needed.
DIY face wash Ingredients
- 1/2 cup filtered water
- 1/4 Castile soap (unscented)
- 1 tablespoon avocado oil (for skin)
- 2 tablespoons raw organic honey
- 15 drops rose-hip oil
This homemade skincare remedy is full of anti-aging benefits.
It’s super easy to make and full of simple ingredients.
Lindsay wrote in the video caption that she was “so happy” other people are trying it and loving it just as much as she does.
“I love a great DIY,” one viewer commented.
Some offered advice on how to switch up the skincare concoction.
“I’d recommend using Manuka Honey with 550 mgo or 850 mgo! It has done wonders for my skin!” one said.
