1. NFL prospect, former Great Dane AJ Simon passes away at 25
The UAlbany community was dealt a heartbreaking blow Wednesday morning. Former UAlbany football player Amitral “AJ” Simon passed away at the age of 25.
2. Albany Police say officer shot following traffic stop, suspect dead
An Albany police officer is recovering and a suspect died early Wednesday morning in Albany. Police Chief Eric Hawkins says the officer was “ambushed” after a short chase and traffic stop.
3. Man sentenced to 47 years in prison for kidnapping child
A Ballston Spa man who pleaded guilty to kidnapping a child in September was sentenced to 47 years to life in prison. Craig Ross was sentenced on the charges of kidnapping and predatory sexual assault against a child.
4. FBI investigating Gloversville explosions
The Gloversville Police Department, New York State Police, and the FBI are investigating two explosions that took place near Helwig Street on Wednesday. Police said the explosions were reported at 1:30 a.m. and two separate scenes between Fifth and Sixth Avenue were located.
5. Bennington PD welcomes new K9 officer
The Bennington Police Department has a new friend. A second K-9 officer is joining the department’s ranks.
