I got my wedding dress in the charity shop for £1 – the groom wore Primark & a top trick made marrying abroad a breeze
SHE’S the queen of finding a bargain in the charity shop – with her money-saving tips even allowing her to buy her first ever house.
And her eye for a hidden gem also meant that Francesca was able to find a wedding dress for just a pound.
She detailed her wedding day style in a video on her TikTok page, as she said: “Would you believe me if I told you my wedding dress cost me £1?
“Of course you would, because I’m the bargain queen.
“And this dress I actually got from the charity shop for £1.
“I had a few to choose from and I picked this the night before.”
She also saved money by doing her own hair and make-up for the special day.
Her husband also went for a cut-price option with a Primark suit, and their son also wore the same, matching, outfit.
“I don’t think they spent more than like £30 or £40,” she added.
Their wedding actually took place in Gibraltar which was another way they kept the costs down.
“It’s classed as an overseas territory, so it’s really easy to get married in Gibraltar if you’re from the UK,” she noted.
In fact, the most expensive part of the holiday was staying in the Rock Hotel in Gibraltar, as she admitted: “These little monkeys were coming in the room and my son was feeding them peaches.
“It was incredible!”
All in all, the wedding would have cost them around £600.
But thanks to a generous gift of £1000 from Francesca’s father-in-law, their wedding and honeymoon – which included two weeks in Spain – didn’t cost them a penny.
“So my wedding dress cost me a quid and my wedding was free,” she concluded.
“Bargain!”
