My babies are twins but born months apart – people are so confused by the maths but it’s not that complicated
A MUM has revealed that her two children are twins, despite being born months apart.
Natalie Dee shared details of her family situation via a video posted to her TikTok channel, @natdee94.
Natalie’s children are born just months apart[/caption] She said that her children are a “blessing”[/caption]The mum revealed that when her eldest child was 11 months old, she gave birth to another baby.
This means that she became pregnant just weeks after her first child was born.
Babies born less than 12 months apart are known are Irish twins, meaning that Natalie’s two daughters are technically twins.
The term Irish twins was initially used as a derogatory term aimed at Irish-Catholics who emigrated to America.
As Catholics do not believe in contraception, Irish families were often large, with children born close together in age.
Despite having two babies so close in age together undoubtedly being hard work, Natalie does not seem fazed and affectionally kisses and coos at her two children in the video.
The two girls seem to love each other a lot, and Natalie shared an adorable clip of her youngest daughter perched on the knee of her eldest.
Natalie explained that she only breast fed her eldest child for a month, as the baby did not like the hormone change after she became pregnant again.
She admitted that having two tots so close together in age is hard, but added that it’s a “blessing”.
Natalie’s video has likely left many open-mouthed, as it has gone viral, racking up a whopping 2.4 million views on the video sharing platform.
TikTok users raced to the video’s comments section to share their thoughts, and some were so perplexed by the mathematics of Natalie’s family situation.
One person said: “How can this happen?”
Another said: “I don’t understand the mathematics”.
Others commended Natalie for being able to cope with two children born so close together, and hoped that the two kids end up becoming close friends.
One person said: “Honestly, I have so much respect for you for being pregnant while you firstborn is still a baby.”
Another added: “Aw they’re gonna grow up so close to each other.
“I wish I had this with my siblings.”
A third said: “My girls will be 11 months apart.
“I can’t wait for this”.
