Pakistani forces kill 7 militants sneaking in from Afghanistan
Pakistani border forces intercepted seven insurgents attempting to cross the border between Afghanistan and Pakistan in North Waziristan, located in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
The Pakistan Army’s public relations department stated that these individuals were killed in a heavy clash with army forces.
According to the statement, the engagement occurred in the Spin Khy area of North Waziristan, resulting in a significant amount of their weapons, ammunition, and explosives falling into the hands of the army.
Pakistan’s military emphasized that it has consistently urged the Taliban to manage its borders properly, expecting the group to fulfill its responsibility and prevent insurgents from using Afghan soil against Pakistan.
Efforts to resolve border tensions between Pakistan and the Taliban over the past three years have yielded little success. Pakistan has consistently accused the Taliban government of providing safe havens to insurgent groups, including the Pakistani Taliban, without taking decisive action against them.
However, the Taliban-led Afghan government has refuted the allegations, claiming that they will not allow any individual or group to exploit Afghan soil against neighboring countries.
On the other hand, the group also criticizes the Pakistani government, stating that Pakistan’s current chaotic situation stems from internal issues rather than those originating in Afghanistan.
Meanwhile, the issue of the Durand Line has been raised by the Taliban, leading to increased tensions between officials on both sides.
